Nambale Primary School stands on Church land and was founded by the Anglican Church of Uganda, and is a government aided school. It is located 2.5kms from Nalango Secondary School and 3 kms from St Peter’s Namwendwa Secondary school and 90% of their leavers feed into one of these two HvSMF secondary schools.

Again, like Makoka Primary School, HvSMF first visited Nambale PS on the 12^th March 2012, the enrolment was 742 and there were only enough desks for 250 pupils. There were 8 classrooms all requiring renovation, there were five stanzas of mixed latrines for pupils and a single stanza for teachers, no teachers’ houses. The head teacher had no office, he operated from under a mango tree. Despite the lack of facilities the school was well supported by the community and the majority of the pupils receive a mid-day meal.

In 2021 HvSMF received a large donation which has transformed the school. The teachers now have 4 houses, they have their own latrines and washing facilities. There is a boarding house for boys and girls, with their own latrines and washrooms, and the 8 dilapidated classrooms have been totally renovated. There is a bore hole providing fresh free clean water and a playground for children to develop through playing.

At the commissioning ceremony on the 28th March 2022 the headmaster said

“Our guests of honour, allow me to extend to you the community’s appreciation of all things donated to this school. I thank the local leaders for the mobilization, security and sensitization during the project work. I greatly thank the community for embracing the projects. Allow me to thank the old boys and girls of the school for contribution of money for food for the builders”.

When we visited for the last time in February 2024 we met the new headmaster who had only been there for one week. We hope he will look after all the new facilities and ensure the success of the school in the years ahead.
