Our Annual Carol Service
12 Carol Services raised £507,400 all spent on projects in Uganda.
The Charity’s annual Christmas carol service has run every December (apart from the 2 Covid years) from 2009 – 2022. It has always been held at St Luke’s Church, Sydney Street in Chelsea and has never attracted less than 800 guests each year.
This has always been our biggest annual fundraising event over 12 years, raising a remarkable total of £507,400. The final carol service in December 2022 featured readings by seven of Henry’s friends who had participated in his Memorial Service at Harrow School, twenty years before, including the Chaplain who conducted the service in January 2003.
Every year the chapel choir of Ludgrove School performed for the charity, which was much appreciated as Henry and his two brothers had been educated at the school.
We are so grateful for all the support we have received from the many friends who have attended various services or who have donated to the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund.
