Namwendwa Nursery School
Number of pupils : 113 (53 boys & 60 girls)
School Motto : The early bird catches the worm
Following the introduction of a nursery class at Namwendwa primary school we decided to construct a designated nursery school. The three classrooms and two offices were subsequently completed at the end of 2010. We were very grateful for the funding and it is wonderful that so many children can start education at a very young age.
The head teacher of the nursery school is Scovia Niwagaba, who is an excellent teacher, and during our visit in 2024 she told us that “pupils who have passed through Namwendwa Nursery School and joined primary schools have gone on performing very well. The candidate performing the best in their leaving exams in Namwendwa Primary School in 2023 had been to the nursery school. Furthermore, the pupils who were in the top nursery class in 2011, when I started, completed S4 (their O’Levels) in 2023”. We hope she will remain teaching for many years and her pupils will continue to be successful.
